Cooking in Alaska
Moose Meatloaf

Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground moose meat
- 1 pkg saltine crackers
- 2 eggs
- 1 medium diced onion
- 1 medium diced bell peppers
- 1 medium diced fresh tomato
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp sage powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Picante Sauce
Directions:
- In glass bowl, add ground moose
meat, 2 eggs, salt, onion and garlic powder, and sage... mix thoroughly
- Add onions, peppers, and
tomatoes... mix thoroughly
- Add crushed crackers... mix
thoroughly
- Put the mixture into a greased
loaf pan
- Bake in oven at 350' for
approximately 40 minutes
- Serve with spoonful of picante
on top, and with rice, or noodles or mashed
potatoes
- Serves 4

Tip's
I have found that cooking meat with fresh tomatoes helps
remove the gamey smell and taste of the meat, which sometimes occurs in
wild game meat.
Moose meatloaf makes wonderful sandwiches for lunch the next day too!
